Shared vehicles are becoming increasingly popular now. The vehicles are seen as sustainable vehicles. The Netherlands must live more environmentally consciously. Governments and companies are therefore interested in promoting shared vehicles. This research tries to add theory to why people use a shared vehicle. The research will mainly focus on intrinsic motivations. The motivations that are investigated are the individualistic and collectivistic values. With information about the intrinsic motivation of people who use shared vehicles, the research can contribute to an improved promotion of shared vehicle use.
Shared vehicles are vehicles that can be found on the street or in a fixed parking space, in addition, these vehicles can be used by several people. Examples of shared vehicles are Felyx, GoSharing, Greenwheels, MoBike, and OV bike.
